Find a little something for everyone this winter in Steamboat

winter in steamboat

White gold is falling from the skies this time of year, creating a skiers' and boarders' paradise. If you have never skied, Steamboat, it is truly an experience not to be missed. Our champagne powder, and even an occasional moose visitor, make our slopes some of the most sought-after anywhere. So, buying a lift ticket is an obvious must-do winter in Steamboat activity.

But what about the folks who aren't into skiing? There is still plenty to keep you busy and completely entertained this winter:

Hot springs

As you might guess from our town's name, we have a few hot springs here. They are stunning in the summer, but they are positively luxurious in the winter. There's nothing like slipping into a steamy pool surrounded by frosty mountain views.

Snowshoeing

Exploring trails by snowshoe offers a serene, meditative experience (and a workout!). The woods are quiet when blanketed with snow, and you can hear yourself think. These trails are some local favorites.

Snow biking

The huge tires on snow bikes (aka fat bikes) take mountain biking to a whole new level. You can rent snow bikes at several locations in Steamboat

Live music, great food and beer

Throughout the year, headliners and great local bands alike make their way to Steamboat Springs to play in some of our outstanding venues. Enjoy some incredible food and local craft beer while you take in the show.

Special events

From holiday markets to the Winter Carnival, there are special events to enjoy all year long in Steamboat Springs. There are too many to list here, so keep an eye on the events calendar.
