The popular Steamboat area of Fish Creek Falls starts at the Post Office downtown as Oak Street becomes Fish Creek Falls Road and climbs both sides of the road all the way up to Elkins Meadows (just before the actual Fish Creek Falls) The Fish Creek Area also roughly follows US 40 towards South towards the Mountain until Sundance Plaza at which point it turns back East. The area is really most of the properties between Town and the Mountain (except for the Sanctuary)
Many of the properties offer sweeping views on the surrounding hills and downtown/Howelsen Hill. The area above town is mainly single-family residence and some neighborhoods like Meadowbrook Circle are upscale and with mature landscaping. To the South (around Hilltop) many of the properties tend to be more Townhouses, Condos (some built in 70’s) and Duplexes.
Fish Creek tends to be a family-oriented community; often families that migrated to the Yampa Valley many years ago. Many dogs and kids fill the surrounding trail system that meanders through the neighborhoods and all eventually end up downtown. Biking and hiking enthusiasts also use the trails to get to Natural Forrest or the often frequented Spring Creek Trail which is located just above town.
There's something for everyone here!
